This boot has another feature that I like. The OP should checkout the Head Advant-Edge 125 in a size 24 as it has a feature that allows the flex to be varied between 105 to 125. In the past it has been difficult to find a stiff boot that is also fits wide so it is nice to see Head come up with this boot. However these boots are 102mm wide in 26.5 which means that they are 100mm wide in 25.5.my exact size. So yes I have gone down a size to the correct length for my foot length. They are a Head Advant-Edge 125 in a size 25. I currently have a pair of new boots on order. I also had to get the boots punched at the baby toes and a little back of the toe. After 2 days of skiing the liner compacted enough to remove the buckle extenders and just go with the buckle bail in it's fully extended position. Rather than get the foot blocks or my thin custom foot beds ground down to lower my foot in the boot, I opted for using a pair of buckle extenders.
#REVIEW OF SIZEUP PRO#
When my Tecnica Cochise Pro 130 boots arrived, with my really high instep the second buckle would not latch close even though these boots accommodate high insteps (and they were a size up from my 25.5 foot). Most ski shops do not stock 130 flex boots but will order them in. As soon as I tried the boots on I felt a slight pinch on either side of my heel and also a snug fit around the back of my foot.I knew I had found my next boot.

These were not the Cochise and the 26.5 was too loose in the heel.Īt the Tahoe Gathering I quizzed Phil who I had just met, about Tecnica ski boots and Phil being Phil, arranged for the Tecnica rep to bring a lightly used demo pair of next the year's Cochise Pro 130 boots, size 26.5 to the evening social at Start Haus. Bachelor and the size 25.5 where very painful and left red marks on my instep after only a few minutes and the boot fitter said that looking at my foot he wasn't surprised that the 25.5 didn't work. In 2012, on the way to the Tahoe Gathering I tried on Tecnica boots at Mt. When I buy ski boots I am more focused on forefoot width and heel hold down, less concerned about length. Whenever I go into a shoe store I ask them to bring out their widest shoe in a 7 and an 8 and although I can get my foot into a 7 for length, I always end up buying 8 for foot volume, especially at the instep. My feet measure 25 and 25.5, 100mm wide with a low arch, high instep and medium width heel and not very prominent ankle. However, since there is no industry wide standard things can vary between manufacturers. So a boot that has a 100mm last in a 26.5 will be 98mm wide in a 25.5 and 102mm in a size 27.5. Most boots indicate the interior width in a size 26.5 and then go up or down 2mm (more or less) for each size. The OP states that he has a wide foot so he should measure his foot width at the widest point. To accommodate my skinny heels & ankles I use tongue shims to push my ankle & heel down into the heel pocket. What are your feet shaped like? High & wide, low & wide, or? My feet are like carpenter's pencils.skinny, flat, & long. High volume shells, that seem to be what he needs, are way too roomy for him to have any control. He needs low volume shells that are punched way out so he has room on the sides. Something like 1 mm to 3mm on the sides with the foot centered and the sides of the boot pulled away so you can see.Ī friend has feet like pancakes.

I think you want something like 3/8" to 5/8" room at the heel with your toe touching the front. Pull the liner and put your foot into the shell. Boots can be adjusted bigger they can't be adjusted smaller. Don't accept the one or two finger rule.who's fingers.Tricia's or Phil's? They aren't as wildly inexact as flex numbers, but they ain't gospel.
